Photography Walks & Creative Meetups in Portugal
Join our community of 40-60 year old photographers exploring landscapes, perfecting portraits, and discovering art through the lens.
Why Photographers Choose Our Groups
We're not a photography school. We're a community of people who love capturing what they see. Whether you're shooting landscapes in the Douro Valley, learning how to direct subjects for portraits, or preparing work for exhibition, you'll find people who get it.
Each week we organize walks through different Portuguese regions — mountain passes, coastal cliffs, historic towns. We meet for portrait sessions where we actually practice posing and lighting. We visit photo exhibitions together. And we sketch in the streets of Lisbon and Porto.
Members tell us they weren't expecting to find friends. But that's what happens when you spend hours walking, talking, and looking at light together.
What We Do Together
Monthly calendar of walks, workshops, and exhibitions across Portugal
Landscape Photography Walks
We walk together through Portugal's best landscapes — the Serra da Estrela, Peneda-Gerês, coastal paths near Lagos. You'll learn about composition by actually being there, watching light change, experimenting with different angles. No lectures. Just walking and photographing.
Portrait Workshop Sessions
Monthly portrait sessions where members become both photographer and subject. We cover posing techniques, lighting setups, and how to direct people to feel comfortable. Everyone shoots everyone. You see your work improve from session to session.
Photo Exhibition Openings
We attend exhibitions together and visit galleries as a group. Members share their own work in curated shows. You'll learn what makes a photograph work in print, how to frame and present your best images, and get feedback from photographers you trust.
Urban Sketching Outings
Photography isn't just the camera. We meet in Lisbon and Porto to sketch, paint, and draw what we see. It trains your eye differently. Some members bring cameras and sketch cameras. Others bring sketchbooks. Everyone learns from everyone.

"I wasn't sure about joining at first. But after three landscape walks I was already seeing things differently. The group isn't competitive — everyone's just trying to improve and having fun doing it. Now I've got actual friends who understand why I spend Saturday mornings looking for light."
"The portrait sessions changed how I think about photography. It's one thing to read about lighting. It's completely different when you're actually setting up lights and shooting someone's face. I've done three sessions and I'm already way more confident with my technique."
"We walked through the Douro Valley with the group last month. The landscape was incredible, but what really stuck with me was how different everyone's photographs looked. Same place, same light, but each person captured something different. That's when I understood what composition really meant."
How to Join a Group
It's simple. No membership fees. No experience level required. Just people who like photography.
Choose Your Group
Browse our active groups — landscape walks in the north, portrait sessions in Lisbon, exhibition visits in Porto. We have something for everyone, from beginners to experienced photographers.
Show Up or Get in Touch
Most walks have open registration on our site. If you want to know more first — ask questions, tell us about your camera, check if the timing works — just send a message and we'll connect you with the group organizer.
Come on the Walk or Workshop
Bring your camera, bring yourself. We meet, we shoot, we talk about what we're seeing. You'll meet other photographers immediately. There's no awkward learning curve — everyone's there for the same reason.
